The Senior Citizens Advisory Board meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at the
Senior Center located at 315 Greentree Road.

SENIOR CENTER INFORMATION AND ACTIVITIES

Mondays
Bingo, Bridge and other card games. Light lunch served.

 Tuesdays
Aerobics 10:00 AM
Duplicate Bridge is the second Tuesday of the month at 12:00.
You must sign up ahead of time with the Duplicate Bridge Club.

Wednesdays
Aerobics 10:00 AM
Bridge 11:00 AM

Thursdays
For a minimal fee, a Hot Lunch meal consisting of a salad, entree, and dessert is served.
After lunch many people remain to play bingo or to play cards.

Friday
Bingo, Bridge and other card games. Light lunch served.

The Washington Township Senior Center first opened in August 1992. You must be at least age 55 and a resident of Washington Township in order to join the Center. The Senior Center welcomes the Seniors from Washington Township, however, the Senior Center is not a Day Care facility. Membership Dues for the Center are $10.00 per year. Some of the activities that are provided by the Center are: Monthly Casino Bus Trips, Bingo, Bridge, Pinochle, Aerobics, Pool and occasionally Pool tournaments and Card game tournaments. Bridge lessons have also been given, when there has been enough interest. Each year, there is a Christmas Party and an Anniversary Party. 

On Monday, Thursday and Friday, there is round trip bus transportation to the Center so the seniors can participate in the activities. You must call ahead of time to schedule the ride.


Monday - Friday, there is free bus transportation for the seniors to take them to their medical appointments within Camden and Gloucester Counties. You must call three (3) to five (5) days ahead of time to schedule a ride. Call the Senior Center at 856-256-0707. Passengers must be ambulatory and able to maneuver on their own. We can accommodate wheel chairs, walkers and canes.


On Wednesday there is free bus transportation to take the seniors to the various shopping malls. Call the Senior Center at 856-256-0707 ahead of time to be picked up. See the Municipal Shuttle Bus Schedule for Mall information.

Shopping Bus Information


The Washington Township Municipal Bus is available daily to Senior Citizens aged 55 and over free of charge.

For pick-up on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday, call Parks and Recreation at 589-3227.

The bus stops at the Senior Center every day of the week except Wednesdays.

Mall Trips – Wednesdays

To reserve a seat for mall trips, you must call Parks and Recreation at 589-3227 Monday or Tuesday by 2:00 pm the week of the trip. Malls visited on a rotating basis are Deptford and Voorhees town Center with the bus going to Cherry Hill/Moorestown the second Wednesday of each month.

The Washington Township Municipal Bus has two routes:

Morning: 8:30 am and 10:00 am

Afternoon: 1:00 pm (Shopping pick-up)

2:00 and 3:00 pm (Senior Center pick-up)

The bus also accommodates those interested in attending the Thursday Senior Lunch Program at the Senior Center. For information on the Senior Lunch Program, call 589-3227.

Medical Bus Information

Washington Township now offers Municipal Shuttle Bus service to Washington Township Senior Citizens (age 55 and over) having doctor appointments or needing any medical testing done within Gloucester and Camden counties Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:30 am and 2:30 pm.

Passengers must be ambulatory and able to maneuver on their own. We can accommodate wheel chairs, walkers and canes, but we are not licensed or insured to accommodate bedridden, non-ambulatory or those in need of medical aides, nurses, therapists, etc.

Residents should call the Parks and Recreation office at 856-589-3227 (7) days prior to their appointment.
